Role overview
Experienced interlock and paving masons for road, landscaping, villa, commercial and infrastructure projects in Dubai, laying interlock paving and kerbstones to the right levels and slopes and finishing external works. AED 1,500 to 2,500 a month, indicative, depending on experience and skill.
Experience requirement. Hands-on experience as an interlock mason or paving mason, laying interlocking paving blocks and kerbstones. Correct level, alignment, compaction and drainage slope matter most in this role.
Key responsibilities
- Install interlocking paving blocks
- Install kerbstones and edging
- Prepare areas for paving work
- Assist with excavation and base preparation where required
- Spread and level bedding sand
- Measure and mark paving areas
- Set the required levels and slopes
- Lay interlock blocks to the specified patterns
- Cut paving blocks accurately around edges and obstructions
- Keep lines straight and joints consistent
- Install kerbs to the right levels and alignment
- Apply joint sand
- Finish paved surfaces with a compactor
- Check finished areas for settlement, level and drainage
- Repair and relay damaged or uneven paving
- Maintain tools and equipment
- Follow site HSE requirements
Requirements
- Relevant experience as an interlock mason or paving mason
- Practical experience installing interlocking paving blocks
- Experience with kerbstone installation
- Strong understanding of levels, slopes and alignment
- Knowledge of bedding and base preparation
- Able to use paving cutters and compactors
- Able to understand measurements and site instructions
- UAE or GCC experience is preferred, depending on the employer
- Valid passport
- Physically and medically fit for external construction work overseas
