Role overview
A formwork foreman is required to run gangs of carpenters and helpers on concrete frame projects. The role suits a senior carpenter who already leads a crew and plans the pour cycle. AED 2,500 to 5,000 a month, indicative.
Experience requirement. Candidates must have at least 10 years of formwork experience, including time leading a gang.
Key responsibilities
- Allocate carpenters and helpers to each pour area and task
- Plan the formwork cycle for floors, walls and other pours
- Calculate the prop, panel, plywood and timber counts for each pour
- Request materials early and report shortages to the site engineer
- Check forms against the drawing for line, level, plumb and dimensions
- Carry out pre-pour checks on props, bracing, ties and joints
- Confirm that steel fixing and services are complete before closing forms
- Brief the gang on lifting, edge protection and safe striking
- Decide the striking time with the engineer after curing
- Train less experienced carpenters in fabrication and setting out
Requirements
- At least 10 years of formwork experience, with gang leadership
- Strong knowledge of timber, system or aluminium formwork, or a mix
- A diploma in civil engineering is an advantage. Proven site experience matters more
- Able to read structural and formwork drawings and plan material counts
- Thorough knowledge of working at height, edge protection and safe striking
- Valid passport
- Medically fit for overseas employment

Salary & benefits
