Role overview

Experienced food delivery truck drivers for a bakery and food production company in Dubai, delivering bread, pastries, cakes and other bakery products from the production facility to supermarkets, retail outlets, restaurants and other delivery points. Key responsibilities

  • Drive company delivery trucks or assigned commercial vehicles safely and responsibly
  • Deliver bread, cakes, pastries, confectionery and other bakery products to the assigned locations
  • Collect products from the bakery production facility or dispatch department
  • Load, arrange and secure bakery trays, cartons and food containers before setting off
  • Check product quantities against invoices, delivery notes and dispatch records
  • Follow the assigned routes, schedules and customer delivery instructions
  • Deliver products on time and in good condition
  • Keep the inside of the delivery vehicle clean and hygienic
  • Help load and unload bakery products
  • Handle bakery products carefully to prevent damage, contamination or waste
  • Get delivery acknowledgements from customers and store representatives
  • Report shortages, damage, delivery discrepancies or customer complaints
  • Coordinate with the dispatch, warehouse, production and logistics teams
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks: tyres, brakes, lights, fuel and general condition
  • Report breakdowns, mechanical problems and maintenance needs
  • Follow UAE traffic rules and the company's transport procedures
  • Keep accurate delivery records and documents
  • Stay professional with customers and retail staff

Requirements

  • A GCC driving licence, or previous work experience in a Gulf country
  • A valid licence from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait or Bahrain is preferred; candidates who have worked in a GCC country may also apply, subject to the employer's assessment
  • Hold, or be eligible to obtain, the UAE driving licence for the assigned vehicle category
  • Experience as a food delivery, truck, commercial delivery, FMCG or bakery distribution driver is preferred
  • A valid home-country driving licence held for at least 2 years is preferred
  • Aged 23 to 45, as stated by the employer and subject to its confirmation
  • Basic English: able to read, write and speak simple English
  • Able to read delivery instructions, invoices and route information
  • Familiarity with GCC road rules and delivery operations is an advantage
  • Able to use GPS navigation and follow assigned routes
  • Physically fit, and able to help with loading and unloading
  • Good time management across many deliveries a day
  • Good communication and customer service
  • Professional grooming, personal hygiene and presentation are required
  • A responsible driving attitude, discipline and punctuality

Driving licence and Gulf experience

You must meet at least one of these. Candidates under either are assessed on their driving experience, licence eligibility, employment history and the employer's requirements.

  • A valid driving licence issued by a GCC country, with relevant driving experience
  • Previous employment in a GCC country, preferably in transport, logistics, food delivery, FMCG distribution or a related industry
