Role overview

An electrical supervisor is required to oversee the electrical works of a project from the site. The role covers quality, coordination and progress across several foremen and crews. AED 5,000 to 8,000 a month, indicative.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise electrical installation by foremen and their gangs across the site
  • Plan weekly work with the project engineer
  • Carry out quality checks on conduit, cable routes, terminations and panels
  • Check workmanship against approved drawings, specifications and method statements
  • Raise inspection requests with the consultant and attend the inspections
  • Coordinate positions and access with civil, air-conditioning, plumbing and fire trades
  • Maintain and update the snag list, and make sure each item is closed
  • Check test records and handover documents before submission
  • Enforce site safety rules, permits and isolations
  • Report progress, manpower and delays to the project engineer

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of electrical experience, with site supervision
  • ITI Electrician, a diploma in electrical engineering or an equivalent trade certificate is preferred, and a diploma or degree is preferred for this role
  • Able to read and check electrical drawings, schematics and specifications
  • Good communication in English or Hindi
  • A DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) or other local authority competency approval is an advantage where the employer requires it
  • Valid passport
  • Medically fit for overseas employment

About the work

You run the electrical side of the site day to day. You plan the work with the project engineer, direct the foremen and make sure the installation meets the drawings and specification. The employer expects strong quality control, good coordination with other trades and timely inspections.

Final salary depends on your experience, skills, communication and interview performance, and on the employer's selection.
