Role overview

Process control engineers for refinery DCS systems in Abu Dhabi and Ruwais, covering control loops, configuration and commissioning support.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain refinery DCS and process-control systems
  • Troubleshoot control loops and process-control abnormalities
  • Review control logic and operating philosophy
  • Support DCS configuration and modification
  • Take part in DCS, ESD and SIS testing
  • Support FAT, SAT, loop checks and commissioning
  • Review cause-and-effect diagrams
  • Analyse process trends and control performance
  • Support PID-loop tuning and control optimisation
  • Coordinate with operations, instrumentation and process engineering
  • Support plant startup, shutdown and turnaround
  • Maintain control-system documentation
  • Take part in MOC and process-safety reviews

Requirements

  • B.E. or B.Tech in instrumentation, control, electrical, chemical or electronics engineering
  • 3 to 10 years or more on process-control systems
  • Valid passport
  • Medically fit for overseas employment

General requirements for these refinery roles

  • Medically fit, and able to meet GCC employment and visa requirements
  • Relevant refinery, petrochemical, oil and gas, gas-processing or heavy-process industry experience is preferred
  • Willing to work shift-based, plant or field roles where the job requires it
  • Good English communication and technical reporting
  • Understands and follows HSE, permit-to-work, LOTO and emergency-response procedures
  • Educational and experience documents may be verified by the employer
  • Able to provide educational certificates, experience letters and supporting documents
