Role overview
Experienced CNC machine operators for manufacturing, engineering, precision machining and metal fabrication in Dubai, setting up and running CNC machines, reading engineering drawings, selecting tools and holding dimensional accuracy and production quality. AED 2,500 to 3,500 a month, indicative, and more for strong setup and programming skills.
Experience requirement. Hands-on experience as a CNC machine operator, CNC operator or CNC machinist: machine setup, tool selection and setting, basic program adjustments, dimensional inspection and routine machine maintenance. Stronger skills in independent machine setup, CNC programming and precision machining can earn more, depending on the employer and the practical assessment.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines to production requirements
- Load raw materials and workpieces correctly and securely
- Select and install the right cutting tools
- Set tool and work offsets for the machining required
- Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
- Understand dimensions, tolerances and machining specifications
- Load and run approved CNC programs
- Enter or adjust machine parameters where authorised
- Set machine zero and reference points and work coordinates
- Monitor cutting speeds, feed rates and machining operations
- Carry out CNC turning, milling, drilling, boring or related operations, depending on the machine
- Watch machine operation for abnormal conditions
- Inspect components during and after machining
- Measure finished components with the right precision instruments
- Make sure parts meet the required dimensions and tolerances
- Spot tool wear and replace cutting tools when needed
- Identify machining defects and make the right adjustments
- Deburr and carry out basic finishing where required
- Keep production quality consistent
- Keep material wastage, rejections and machine downtime low
- Keep production, measurement and inspection records
- Carry out routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance
- Report machine faults, breakdowns or abnormalities promptly
- Keep the work area clean and organised
- Follow company quality, HSE and PPE requirements
Requirements
- Relevant experience as a CNC machine operator, CNC operator or CNC machinist
- Practical, hands-on experience operating CNC machinery
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings
- A good understanding of dimensions, tolerances and machining specifications
- Able to set up machines and change tools
- Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming and program adjustments
- Able to identify machining defects and dimensional deviations
- Strong attention to accuracy, quality and productivity
- Able to follow production plans and supervisor instructions
- Able to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team
- ITI, Diploma or a relevant machining or technical qualification is preferred
- UAE or GCC manufacturing experience is an advantage
- Valid passport

What your salary depends on
AED 2,500 to 3,500 a month is indicative. Candidates with advanced experience in independent CNC machine setup, programming, G-code and M-code, complex machining and high-precision components may earn more than AED 3,500 a month, depending on the employer. The final salary depends on:
