Role overview
Skilled brick and block masons for residential, commercial, high-rise and general construction projects in Dubai, building walls and partitions in brickwork and concrete blockwork with accurate line, level and alignment. AED 1,500 to 2,500 a month, indicative, depending on experience and skill.
Experience requirement. Hands-on experience as a brick mason or block mason, building internal and external walls and partitions in brick and concrete block. Accurate line, level and plumb, mortar preparation and working from measurements and basic drawings are what Dubai employers commonly look for.
Key responsibilities
- Construct internal and external brick and block walls
- Build partitions and other masonry structures
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks and related masonry units
- Read and follow basic construction drawings and layouts
- Measure and mark work areas accurately
- Prepare and apply mortar
- Keep line, level, plumb and alignment correct
- Check wall dimensions, openings and elevations
- Build door and window openings according to drawings
- Carry out masonry around columns, beams and other structural elements
- Cut and shape blocks where required
- Carry out masonry repairs and modification work
- Coordinate with the plastering, MEP and finishing teams
- Keep material wastage low
- Maintain masonry tools and keep the work area in order
- Follow site HSE procedures and PPE rules
Requirements
- Relevant experience as a brick mason or block mason
- Strong practical knowledge of brick and concrete-block construction
- Able to keep accurate line, level and plumb
- Knowledge of mortar preparation and application
- Able to understand measurements and basic construction drawings
- Able to use masonry hand and power tools
- UAE or GCC experience is preferred, depending on the employer
- Valid passport
- Physically and medically fit for construction work overseas
